If you’re planning a Disney vacation, you’ve probably heard about the Disney Skyliner—but how does it work, and is it the best way to get around? Let’s take a ride together as I break down everything you need to know about the Skyliner, including where it goes, how long it takes, and tips to make your trip smoother!

✨ What Is the Disney Skyliner?

The Disney Skyliner is a gondola-style transportation system that connects two Disney parks and four Disney resorts. Think of it as a magical flying ride that also happens to get you from point A to point B! It’s not only a fun way to travel but also one of the most efficient ways to hop between certain parks and hotels.

The Skyliner connects:

Hollywood Studios

Epcot

Caribbean Beach Resort (Main Hub)

Riviera Resort

Pop Century & Art of Animation (Shared Station)

The Caribbean Beach Skyliner Station is the main hub, where all three Skyliner routes meet. From here, you can hop on different lines to reach your destination.

🕒 How Long Does the Disney Skyliner Take?

One of the biggest questions people have when vacation planning at Disney is how long it takes to get from one place to another. So, I timed each Skyliner route for you!

🚡 Caribbean Beach → Art of Animation/Pop Century: ~4 minutes
🚡 Caribbean Beach → Riviera: ~3 minutes
🚡 Riviera → Epcot: ~10 minutes (Total from Main Hub to Epcot: ~14 minutes)
🚡 Caribbean Beach → Hollywood Studios: ~5 minutes

💡 Pro Tip: The Skyliner moves continuously, so even if there’s a line, it usually moves quickly!

FAQs: What You Need to Know Before You Ride

1️⃣ How many people fit in a gondola?

Each Skyliner gondola holds up to 10 people. If it’s busy, you might be paired with other groups. If it’s quiet, you might get your own private gondola!

2️⃣ When is the Skyliner open?

Hours vary, but generally, the Skyliner opens 1 hour before Early Entry and 1.5 hours before official park opening. It stays open 1.5 - 2 hours after park closing. Check posted signs at each station or ask a Cast Member for that day's schedule!

3️⃣ Why did the Skyliner stop?

If your gondola pauses, don’t panic! The most common reasons are:

  • Guests with mobility devices (like scooters or wheelchairs) loading

  • Slower boarding for families with strollers

  • Weather-related delays (like lightning or strong winds)

Each gondola has an emergency call button and a phone number to reach a Cast Member if you ever need assistance.

4️⃣ Does the Skyliner run in bad weather?

The Skyliner will pause or close for safety reasons during lightning, heavy rain, or strong winds. If bad weather is expected, Disney will provide alternate transportation, like buses.

5️⃣ Can I bring a stroller on the Skyliner?

Yes! Regular strollers fit without folding, but double strollers will need to be collapsed before boarding.
